Exploring principles, techniques and practices at the intersection of farm and human ecosystems that can be applied to improve environmental sustainability, food quality, and overall well-being.
Growing the Movement Around Food Quality
Bringing together the collective knowledge of the broader food and environmental movements from the perspective of successful farmers, cutting-edge researchers, enlightened health practitioners, and pioneers of food quality, this conference is the nexus of information and networking for all those interested in coming together around soil and nutrition.
Integrating diverse viewpoints, this year’s program engages growers and gardeners with principles, practices and innovations for ecologically and financially sound farming, and presents the health-conscious consumer and medical professional valuable insights to effectively advocate and select for quality in their local region and food supply.
Vision + Strategy Day
Join us the day before the conference, Tuesday, November 28, when we publicly present for the first time the prototype Bionutrient Meter.
What is the Bionutrient Meter?
It is a handheld device that anyone can use to flash a light at produce and discern levels of nutrient density, and a farmer can use in the field to determine relative crop quality.
Real Food Campaign Intensive
This summer, the Bionutrient Food Association launched the Real Food Campaign, our coordinated strategy to "Increase Quality in the Food Supply" with the Bionutrient Meter at the heart of it.
The pre-conference will share the efforts and progress of the Real Food Campaign, inviting dialogue about strategies to further the goals of the food movement. With presentations from leaders in the broader movement speaking from their perspectives about the importance and implications of the Real Food Campaign, we will explore what it could mean for our food supply, for our farms, as well as human and planetary health to make such a tool commercially and readily available.
This event will be a major opportunity to network with some of the most important allies in the country and globally around our collaborative and solutions-oriented approach.
Join us at this exciting juncture in the food movement!
With the support of our generous donors, the Bionutrient Food Association is happy to offer a limited number of scholarships to help defray the cost of attending for those in need of some financial support. We only ask that scholarship recipients volunteer for two hours during the conference to assist the conference staff. Please note that we will be awarding scholarships on a rolling basis, but the deadline for applications is 12 midnight EST, November 12, 2017.
